New Zealand Building Permits Rise 7.8% In August
The total number of building permits issued in New Zealand was up a seasonally adjusted 7.8 percent on month in August, Statistics New Zealand said on Friday.
That follows the downwardly revised 10.8 percent contraction in July (originally -10.7 percent).
In the year ended August 2018, the actual number of new dwellings consented was 32,759, up 6.6 percent on year.
The annual value of non-residential building work consented was NZ$6.7 billion, up 5.4 percent on year.
