Net Insight selected for the next generation of arenanät for the Austrian Bundesliga

Stockholm

Net Insight, a leading provider of streaming, the transportation and resource planning in the TV and media, today announces that

MTI Teleport

has built a media network for

Sky Austria

based on the new router Nimbra 1060 with terabitkapacitet.

The new media network connects 12 stadiums in Austria, Sky Austria and MTI Teleporter Network Operation Center, for the Austrian Bundesliga. The network transports uncompressed video, and data services via 10 Gbps links, enabling distributed workflows, which creates positive synergies for rights holders and production facilities.

«Net Insight’s proven technology is absolutely necessary for us and the Nimbra 1060 provides us with unmatched scalability,» says David Mueller, Director, Product Management at MTI. «It makes us even more competitive in the nättjänstemarknaden for the media and live sporting events.»

«We have a long and solid partnership with MTI Teleport, together with the MINISTRY Broadcast, which we have built up over the years,» says Henrik Sund, ceo of Net Insight. «With our new platform, we can help MTI Teleport to meet the future needs of the capacity and flexibility for live sporting events when we go over to IP-based production workflows.»

The order was won together with Net Insight’s partner SHM Broadcast, and the network went live in July.

The Nimbra 1060 is Net Insight’s next-generation terabitrouter with the NPV-oriented architecture, which provides secure and smooth transport over the WAN (Wide Area Networks) for all IP-based media services. The Nimbra 1060 handles traditional media services as well as IP-based media services, such as SMPTE 2110 across the WAN; connects easily venues, stadiums, studios, and production sites without complex traffic management systems.

Other sportligor running over MTI Teleports Nimbra-based network is the German Bundesliga 1 and 2, the basketball league, ice hockey league, and Handbollsligan. Other sporting events, Champion League matches, also transported over the MTI Teleporter network, where the final is already 2015 broadcast in 4K.
